A. Types of Scholarships
There are many kinds of scholarships abroad, among them is :
- Full scholarship, is a scholarship whose entirety is borne by the organizer, starting from school fees, study costs, monthly living expenses, and round-trip airfare (PP). For example, Ausaid, Stuned, Fulbright, Chevening dan Monbukagakusho.
- Beasiswa Teaching Assistanship (FACING), This is a scholarship in the form of wages for helping lecturers or being teaching assistants. Usually given to PhD or Masters students who are tasked with checking assignments or teaching courses for the lower classes. The amount of wages varies, but in general it is enough to cover living expenses per month, like for a place to live, eat, and transportation. This scholarship is usually awarded by universities in the United States and Canada.
- Beasiswa Research Assistanceship (RA), almost the same as TA. But if RA is more involved in projects created by lecturers.
- Scholarship in the form of a PhD project, is a scholarship in the form of a monthly salary offered by several universities in Western Europe, like the Netherlands, German, Swiss, Italia, French, and Spain where a professor or research group wins a PhD-level research project.
B. Requirements for Applying for Scholarships Abroad
There are several main things you need to pay attention to if you want to apply for a scholarship program abroad, that is :
- Have a minimum TOEFL score 550.
- Have a minimum IP or GPA 3.
- Has a lot of organizational experience.
- Prepare a statement of purpose (SoP) specific one, This means making a different or specific SoP for each scholarship program you are applying for.
- Learn as much as possible about the university you are going to, starting from the chosen major, the lecturers, even the university's alumni.
- Create a systematic and concise CV format that includes points of importance (only the important ones).

- Be careful when looking at advertisements regarding scholarships because who knows, there may be a scholarship program that suits your wishes.
- Take the scholarship form you want and read it carefully. Make sure the scholarship program matches your requirements, like age, background, dsb.
- Make sure you know clearly where you are going to study and what majors are offered by the scholarship program.
- Gather the requirements required by the scholarship program, such as TOEFL scores.
- Make sure the application you make can 'sell yourself' so that the scholarship program organizer can truly understand that you really need the scholarship..
- Pay attention to the maturity date of the scholarship program.
